Buddy Network - Be A Buddy Not A Bully feat. Jordan Pickford
TV Content for Cartoon Network
As we have done since 2015 we worked with Cartoon Network to produce the public service announcement for their annual anti-bullying campaign ‘Be A Buddy Not A Bully’. This year’s ambassador was England’s Number 1 Jordan Pickford and we joined him at his training ground, Everton’s Finch Farm. Jordan shared his personal experience of bullying with us and director Tom Palliser captured him perfectly as he kicked a ball around with some local school kids.
The launch of the campaign coincided with National Anti-Bullying Week (Monday 12th to Friday 16th November) in the UK. The purpose of the initiative is to help kids to speak out against bullying in schools, accept other people’s differences and to “Be a buddy, not a bully”.
As with previous years, Cartoon Network UK is collaborating with NSPCC’s (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) Childline – the number one telephone helpline in the UK for children and young people for advice and support. Cartoon Network UK has a special section on their website for CN Buddy Network (http://www.cartoonnetwork.co.uk/beabuddy) which offers professional advice, tips and how to get support. There’s also video messages from Jordan Pickford and CN Buddy Network ambassadors from previous years including: Ian Wright, Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, Tom Daley, and Tinie Tempah all produced by East City Films.
